So I Tried Wayne Goss’s Concealer Technique And It Literally Didn’t Crease..like Genuinely
so i was watching a wayne goss video this morning and it was like from three years ago but i just feel like i look 85 and i was watching his like concealer videos uh two from like five years ago and one from like three years ago and i've actually been experienced it's funny because i came to this on my own but i felt like i was doing it wrong and i needed some guidance so i went to wayne i have been kind of experimenting with like using an under eye primer or sorry an eye primer like an eyeshadow primer under my eyes but i haven't really like it makes it made so much sense to me but i couldn't really get it to work so i'm just knocked over my green smoothie i literally do that almost every single time so i wanted to try his technique uh and we're gonna start so i'm fully moisturized but he said the first thing you do is you hydrate the ever loving [ __ ] out of your under eye so he said you can use an eye cream or you can use a moisturizer i'm going to use my tatcha dewy skin cream because this [ __ ] is so moisturizing and it's a regular moisturizer i feel like it would be good i don't know like do you mind um so i'm going to pick up some of this eye cream to begin with about that much and he said basically the reason that you want to do this is i like have to get it even it's like a thing it's got to be the same amount you want to work this into your under eye padding padding this into the areas where you have lines and the reason that you want to do this is because you're going to hydrate this area as much as you possibly can to plump up those lines and basically make them like less noticeable because you're hydrating the skin so you're plumping up the skin and it's going to make those lines look less noticeable obviously the drier your skin is the more obvious lines and texture and you know all that kind of stuff is so he said go in with some of this really work it into the skin let it sit go in with more like hydrate the [ __ ] out of it all right so his next tip was to go in with an eye primer the eyeshadow primer uh if you hear that crazy noises the cat i literally can't do anything so uh i was a little bit nervous because i was like which one you know what i mean so i'm kind of between anastasia hourglass and then the urban decay one and i've been using the urban decay one quite a bit for like my eye shadow so i feel like this is the one that i'm gonna try it's also not super pigmented it's actually quite sheer so i'm gonna instead of like applying it with the wand i'm gonna put a little bit on my fingers once again i need it to be even and pat that into my under eyes and i'm really going to pat it into everywhere basically like i mean i'm looking up so that i can get like into those creases and especially focusing like in that area because that's where you know he was explaining that a lot of people think that tare their concealer is creasing and it's really just like if you have lines your concealer is going to sit in those lines eventually you know like it just happens it's your anatomy like this stuff isn't magic it's just not so we have to have realistic expectations and all we can do is really like experiment and try to learn how to do it the best way all right that's eye primer down now this is something that i talk about in my dark circle videos i talk about light layers the way that i approach coverage is with light layers that's typically what it is but i feel like i've been using very very full coverage products he was saying that you should be using a liquid concealer and if you do something with a color corrector it should be a very small amount so i decided that i would come back to a color corrector that i didn't really love at first because i thought it was too sheer it's the clinique beyond perfecting super concealer this is in this is in the shade apricot corrector so it's obviously a orangey peach i don't know i'm gonna do all of this with my fingers so i'm gonna pick up a tiny bit of that on my finger put this under my eyes and i'm taking the [ __ ] all the way up like i'm experimenting here i'm really trying to like figure out how i can get rid of all of this darkness i usually when concealing try to avoid the creasy areas of my under eyes but i do have darkness there so i want to see if i can somehow get this to work and then i'm going to kind of just like pat away you know if i get any any areas that i don't need it so this did add a little bit of warmth under my eyes but it didn't add like a ton of coverage but so far i'm pretty impressed with how my under eye skin looks with the like hydration and the eye primer because i feel like when i've been doing this with the eye primer it hasn't looked this natural you know so now he suggested using a liquid concealer i don't necessarily have like liquid liquid concealers but he was talking about a satin finish something that's a satin finish and not to use something thick and creamy so you guys know that i've been using my kevyn aucoin concealer that's obviously very thick and creamy also the tarte shape tape concealer has a matte finish so i found this in my collection this is the elf hydrating camo concealer it has a satin finish this is fair beige i don't think that it's like perfect for my skin tone but we're going to try this so um once again i'm going to pop this on my finger a little bit of it i'm like pretty impressed with no creasing at all when in that crease okay so now i'm just going to go straight over i can't talk to you because i have to do this okay i have to say i'm pretty impressed with the finish of it it looks very natural like the skin under my eyes looks very natural it looks pretty smooth i am seeing a little bit of settling into like those tiny lines but the skin actually looks really nice my only like problem is because i'm not using a very full coverage anything it's like provided some coverage but i still see that little hollow you know so i don't really know like can i build it up i'm gonna try with a with a brush i'm gonna try using the morphe m433 brush i'm gonna pick up a little bit of that concealer and what i'm gonna do is just focus it in that like hollow it's interesting i'm i'm i've been moving more and more towards more natural makeup in general and this is very interesting to me because the finish looks very natural it looks like my skin it doesn't really look like i put a ton of concealer on which like i didn't really use that much anyway but you wouldn't have i don't know just like from a distance i don't even think that you would think that i was wearing makeup oh i love this all right guys so here's the deal the second or the last step basically he said to apply a very small amount of powder what i'm going to do is basically like i got other [ __ ] to film today so i'm going to do the rest of my makeup and film all that [ __ ] and then i'm going to check in with you at the end of the day uh we're going to see how this [ __ ] held up because i'm
