Part 1: Do Your Makeup in This Order | Step-by-Step Makeup Guide
so um i wanted to just talk to you about the order in which you do your makeup because i've received some questions from people about like do i do my foundation first do i do my concealer first bronzer blush like what comes first basically short answer whatever works for you but if you're feeling very lost and you really just cannot figure out like how to layer them i'm going to give you some i'm going to give you some options and also talk about like some things that you should probably consider some of the things that you should consider are working from large to small in other words large areas of your face to the detail areas so uh for instance like putting your foundation on before you do your blush or your highlight right um none of these are like hard and fast rules you've probably seen people apply blush and then put their foundation over top so there's like all kinds of different ways that you can do it but especially if you're a beginner or you're just feeling like i don't really know where to start a decent like foundation to have i hate puns is to go from large areas of the face to small areas of the face i personally like to work large to small i like doing my eyes last but if i'm gonna be wearing like black eyeshadow or something that's going to create fallout then i like to do my eyes first in addition to going from like your foundation to and by foundation i mean like the base of your makeup to the details you also want to keep in mind the formulation of the product so are you using a cream or powder uh you may have heard i know this is a long explanation but like i have to explain it you know what i mean if you're using a cream or a liquid product then you want to use that before you go in with your powders you don't for the most part want to layer like liquids or creams on top of powders because that can kind of like mix and get cakey okay rolling up the sleeves so the first scenario is foundation or concealer first once again it's really up to you but if you're someone who you know applies a foundation and you apply your foundation and you go in with your concealer and maybe you're i'm applying some primer to my rare beauty foundation to kind of like sheer that a little bit if when you go in with your concealer you feel like there's so much product is adding up then you might benefit from doing your concealer first and then applying foundation in the areas where you don't have concealer and then just kind of like blending around those edges i prefer doing my front my foundation first because i don't like using a lot of coverage anymore i'm gonna put leftover on my sponge ziva so what i do is as i apply my foundation i kind of focus on the outer perimeter of my face and i work see i started here like on the outer perimeter of my face placing like the majority of the product ziva please stop and then i work my way inward because i want to use my foundation to create like just cohesive color throughout my face it's the base right so i just want everything to be like uniform so i did the bottom of my face i'm going up to my forehead i don't put any concealer on my forehead placing this all around the edges i'm using natural lighting just so you know oh i usually do color corrector under my eyes before i do this but whatever and then i'm going to work whatever's left over just all around the rest of my face i usually take my time pouncing it into my skin just so that it's like nice and even and you can see that like as i once i've like placed the product around the areas that i like really want the most payoff or coverage um then i start moving it inward so i don't really put like a ton of um concealer especially on the top of my nose i usually do like my concealer here and you can see that i've kind of like avoided that area so i'm bringing it like up onto my cheeks and in this area mostly just to kind of like color correct and create like one color for my face but i left this area and that's because i'm already gonna be using two products there i use a color corrector to you know correct a little bit of the darkness and then i go in with my concealer so i'm going to do i'm actually using a new product but i want to do a separate video on it i'm going to try the um milani supercharged brightening under eye tint this is in 120 peach color corrector so i'm going to take a tiny bit of that i usually just perform before my foundation and i'm going to place this directly underneath my eyes and i'm focusing it just where the darkness is so now i'm going to go in with my l'oreal infallible concealer and i'm going to use this to conceal and brighten the areas that i didn't really apply very much foundation because like i said i started around the outer perimeter of my face and kind of like moved my way inward so this is going to be super repetitive if you watch my videos regularly but now i'm using this to conceal and brighten the areas that i didn't really apply a ton of product so if you are someone who likes to you know conceal and highlight and brighten with a concealer maybe use a full coverage foundation then you go in with your concealer maybe use a full coverage concealer maybe you use a color corrector and you are bringing your foundation like maybe you're using a few pumps and you're putting it all over your face and you're bringing it all the way in maybe you start like in the center of your face and then you blend outward or whatever you do it can end up getting like really cakey or creating just like a very thick layer if you're placing a ton of foundation underneath your eyes you don't need that much concealer so i know that i like to you know use a more lightweight coverage foundation and i want a little more coverage underneath my eyes because i have dark circles and i like to brighten this area so i don't use a ton of foundation in this area i rely on my concealer and i actually did for a little while um use concealer before foundation um so it kind of like you know it's just preference it's just like how you end up um preferring the way that it goes but those are a couple of scenarios for foundation and concealer this is the one that i prefer see the planes alright so this is the first part of a little mini series that i'm going to do so i hope that that was helpful as far as like foundation and concealer uh if you are one of those people maybe just consider you know doing your concealer first or not placing concealer in the areas i'm sorry not placing foundation in the areas where you know you're going to conceal so you don't get that buildup of product like you know what i mean can you not knock my pen over please let go goof all right next up we'll be talking about blush bronzer and contour i hope this helped i'll see you soon bye i don't
