Why I Changed My Contour Routine…again. Lolol

so you know how like every i don't know a few weeks or so i completely changed my contour routine well guess what i changed it and i wanted to show you not only how i've changed it but why um because it's one of those things where you just like try different things and you end up you know finding techniques that you need to change to achieve what you're actually trying to do because you recognize like i've been doing it this whole way this way this whole time but i'm actually achieving the opposite of what i was trying to do so we're gonna do that so if you are new to my channel it might be uh helpful to go back and watch like i don't know an older video where i'm contouring my face sibo can you chill so i'm going to start off uh by quickly just saying that for me contour and bronzer are two completely different things so it's going to depend on your skin tone how warm your skin tone how what are you playing with you're being very disruptive the depth of your skin tone yeah i also have a video about like the difference between contour and bronzer i'll pop it somewhere probably if you need like more of an explanation i'm going to be using my fenty beauty matchstick contour stick thing this is in the shade amber when i'm looking at my face something that i really like to accentuate i also did i already did my nose on my lips just you know um is more of a heart shape that's what i like so if we look at my face um i have a pretty large forehead like it's a good size i also have like pretty high cheekbones right but my the widest part of my face is like here and here for the most part right um so my forehead and my cheekbones basically go to the same place i guess the widest point would be like right there where my cheekbones pop out um and then it starts to get a little bit smaller as we get towards my chin but i've noticed that as i get older and also when i'm not eating very well which uh unfortunately recently has been all the time i tend to put on weight here and it makes my face look a little bit more like square maybe like this area look a little bit more round i'm not super wild about that i like to look a little more like chiseled and badass in my personal opinion um so that is something that i like to accentuate is um cutting my jawline and also making this area of my face look very like small and cute so that's basically what i'm trying to achieve i also really like to accentuate sort of that like lifted look that has been pretty popular nowadays so with my contour i'm going to start off by lifting my eyes and i'm going to be using my fenty matchstick so what i like to do you can kind of do it from here you can do it from here if you notice in this area of my face my eyelid or like the area whatever you want to call this the space between like my eyelid my crease and my um eyebrow literally just choked my own breath is pretty light it comes forward quite a bit so it can kind of make my eyelids look a little bit droopy so something i like to do is starting there is draw a little bit of a contour going up my temple so i'm kind of creating like this shape so we're defining like this part of my face i always make them uneven because our faces are uneven and then for my cheekbones um i like to accentuate the sharpness of my cheekbone but i like this to be the most like voluminous area of my face so what i'm gonna do is cut like right here starting way back at my ear because i'm going to blend that out and i don't i don't need a ton of that product right now you can oh i just stabbed it you can see that as i turn my face like this the volume of my face like it gets very flat in this area the volume of my cheek is up here by my cheekbone it's not at all like i don't have those big round cheeks okay um even when i smile see how it kind of like flattens a little bit you know it doesn't get like super big and juicy so i'm going to do a little bit right there and that's going to allow me to kind of like blend that in certain areas that i want placing it up a little bit too high is something that you might see a lot of people do um but typically they're doing that when thave a very different face shape than me and they're trying to create a little bit more of that lift if i do that i'm going to kind of like minimize my actual cheekbones so i'm kind of placing it like not quite in like this hollow but just above and i'm going to kind of like blend out in this direction for my jawline this is the part that has like really changed i want to try and minimize my lower jawline as much as i possibly can and by my my lower jawline what i mean is i like to have this kind of like this heart-shaped situation happening right so i want the majority of my volume of my cheekbone in my i want the majority of the volume to be my cheekbones so if we imagine like a heart kind of going like this i want it to do that okay so i want to minimize like this whole area so the way that i do that is i'm going to draw this contour here so along my jawline because i'm going to blend this inward it's going to make my jawline look or my lower half of my face look a little bit smaller i'm going to take it along my jawline there okay now something else is if i make a double chin um if i make a double chin this area pops out a little bit so what i want to do if i just like leave it like this and i just blend to that then when i you know i'm talking and i'm moving around this area is going to be highlighted and this area of my chin is going to be dark which is going to end up putting them on even more of the same plane which is going to make me look like i have a really big double chin okay so what i'm going to do it's going to minimize basically the definition of my um jawline so what i'm going to do is bring this down a little bit so that i'm creating a shadow that's going to minimize this area of my face but it's going to push that area back in space so we're kind of like scooping underneath the jawline so when i do that you kind of see like oh okay so this is where like the shadow starts and this whole area is underneath another thing that i don't love like i said i put on weight in this area right here which i really do not like i like it to look a little bit more like cut i want listen i want timothy chalamet's jawline okay the concept behind that is i'm going to bring this definition up like in that shape so i'm going like this basically because i want to kind of basically like what you're doing is you're looking at a shape and you're trying to do the opposite of that shape so this area of my face goes out a little bit so i'm going in with that contour do the same thing on the other side tdon't have to be perfectly even especially um if you have like a certain area of your face that does it more than the other then you can like be a little bit heavier handed on the area that like um protrudes a little bit more or whatever um okay so i like to use a small brush i don't know if this is even a
