What The Hell Is Seasonal Color Analysis Bro..?

guys welcome back to my channel if you're new my name is Alex uh I do makeup stuff today I wanted to talk to you about the seasonal color analysis stuff you may have come across these videos on social media where people are essentially having their Seasons determined their season color I guess it's called seasonal color analysis I don't know essentially what it is is you lay a sheet of fabric could be paper fabric is I think preferable uh in various Colors Over You from warm to cool to bright too dark to desaturated versus saturated and essentially it's help it's supposed to help you determine what season your skin is your skin tone so some of the examples are summer winter Autumn or fall and spring some of them get a little bit more in depth thave like you're a bright spring versus like a spring or whatever so I actually did this when I was in Middle School which is kind of hilarious to me because when it when I did it I remember I did it with a friend I think her mom set the whole thing up I went with my mom it was the four robust and I remember thinking like what a weird old-timey activity like I thought it was so strange so here's the thing color theory is legit the way that colors play off of each other makes a gigantic difference in the way that you see each one so an example that I use a lot on this channel especially when I'm talking about makeup and things like color correcting are complementary colors if you place like a blue and an orange next to each other tmake each other more vibrant versus just seeing each of those colors on their own there's a name for that I can never remember what it is somebody let me know in the comments down below if you know what I'm talking about so is this worth it is this helpful getting your color your seasonal color analysis I just hate how long the name is done is it helpful short answer yes very helpful uh it can be extremely helpful when you're trying to determine like what your skin tone is what colors are going to be most flattering on your skin tone if those are that's something that you would just feel completely lost about when I was looking into this a little bit I came across these online quizzes um one on like a personal fashion blog and it was essentially asking like what color is your hair your eye color uh do you look best in like gold tone jewelry silver tone jewelry do you like look best in Peach tones um pink tones and it was kind of like you sort of already need to know what your undertone is to take that quiz uh so if you already know what colors look best on you you can take something like that you can figure out what season you are I personally don't think that that's like super helpful because you kind of already know all the stuff so it doesn't really matter what your exact month season is because you got you already got the answers another one that I came across was really funny was on BuzzFeed and it was like what's your favorite gemstone color and like um pick one earth wind fire water whatever and I was just like that's like that one was like what season do you want to be that's not helpful either basically you have to do this in person you can do this yourself it's very easy uh you can go to a fabric store and pick up some fabric swatches uh preferably something that's going to be like large enough to be able to lay over yourself so that you can really see the difference you want to sit in front of bright lighting and you're essentially going to lay each of those Fabrics over your chest to see what like complements your skin tone what it does and you will see a significant change especially in the colors that wash you out take a look at a color wheel make sure that you have like a nice range of cool to warm toned colors you can try to get some that are like maybe a little bit more bright a little bit more um like washed out think pastels and then some deeper colors for instance like a forest green um Navy Blues things like that just to keep it very very basic but you want to have enough variety so that you're actually like seeing a difference you know now I remember when I did it it was determined that I was a spring I don't think that we had the Nuance of like a bright spring I would assume that I'm a bright spring however based on just like some of the things that I looked up online and what I know looks best on me um ttold me that I would look better in like a dark chocolatey Brown versus a black and that I look better in gold jewelry versus silver jewelry well I don't know if you've noticed I was so pissed I was so pissed because I loved wearing black nothing's changed uh and I also loved silver jewelry at the time now I love silver and gold jewelry uh I wear brown sometimes you know basically once you have this information once you do this do you have to change your life completely absolutely not it can definitely be helpful in terms of like determining what colors Super Wash you out I think that's probably the most helpful part of it is just like my skin tone looks really horrible in like a very very dull uh desaturated cool toned like purpley blue does not look good on me it just completely washes me out I would say desaturated colors in general are not the most flattering however I wear them sometimes I think what is most helpful about this uh color analysis is determining the colors in your makeup that will be most flattering things like your blush color or your lipstick color or your bronzer tone because those are things that can be really really difficult to determine a lot of people are like I don't know if I need a more orange toned bronzer or red toned bronzer or more cool toned bronzer or if I should be wearing like baby pink blush or if I should be wearing purple toned blush or Coral blush and same thing with your lip color so determining whether or not you look good in you know warmer tones versus Cooler tones to keep it as basic as possible is definitely one of the most helpful things about this little quiz but it's not something that you have to completely adhere to but overall I like highly suggest it I think it's a really good idea it's actually a really great way to visualize how different colors will work on your skin tone because we're all so incredibly different I actually highly recommend it and I would love to hear if any of you do it and what your result
