The “Skull Contour” Has Changed My Life For Realz
guys listen I know you love it when I update you on my Contour routine which literally changes like I don't know every single day uh so I asked if you guys wanted to see my updated Contour routine you said absolutely like why do you even need to ask so I'm going to share it with you quickly it's not like something I invented uh it was something that I saw I typically like to try other people's Contour routines here and there I think it's something that everyone should do because it always teaches you something new about like what you prefer for your face yeah I try different things you know what I mean so I believe this is referred to on the internets as uh the skull Contour um okay so I have my base on Foundation concealer that's it I think the interesting thing about this Contour routine is that it kind of Embraces the look of everyone's skull like the structure of your standard skull not that all of our skulls are exactly the same but you know what I mean so I'm gonna start off with the things that I do that you've probably already seen uh I am going to add lift to my temple which just brings a little bit of a lift to my eye so I like to do that this is nothing new uh obviously you don't want to Contour your eyes like a skull unless you're going for Halloween because it's going to create a lot of Darkness you know what I mean like I'm not going to do that with my Contour color next up lip always Contour the bottom and the top and then the only thing that I changed about my nose Contour is I stopped creating the lines I just draw cute little clown Circle right around the tip of my nose which is where I like to bring the definition I like to refine the tip of my nose and I'll explain the rest when I'm blending so that's that now for the skull Contour if we look at an image of a skull one of these sides you have this like Contour that happens here you have this cheekbone now on everyone it's a everyone it's a little bit different you know where our cheekbones sit obviously so you do want to take into account your facial structure but we have this like basic structure of this that happens here and then this that happens here where our teeth sit and this area just underneath our cheekbone the lower part of our cheek just above our jaw is hollow so that's essentially what you're like trying to go for when you're contouring anyway you're kind of just like following your natural structure um and kind of enhance I mean you're essentially like defining your skull you know now before I do this something that you do want to keep in mind is your face structure do you have very sharp features are you like me do you have very round features um my features are like pretty soft I would say especially like my face especially when I put on like if I gain a couple pounds my face tends to get very much more round I like to make it look a little bit more sharp I like sharpening those features if you are someone who has like super sharp features already you don't need to do this you don't need to unless you want to unless you want to enhance that uh but don't feel like if you already have very sharp features that you need to Define them they're already defined you can just go in with a light bronzer if you want some warmth and just keep it very general anyway so what I'm going to do is kind of scoop follow that shape I'm going to start at the end of my ear and I'm going to scoop like this okay so following this shape and then I'm going to bring it straight down now it's going to depend on your face shape how far in you bring this so if I bring this in really far and I draw it to my chin this is something that I've talked about quite a bit when I am talking about my Contour routine this area of my face comes out a little bit so if I extend that line here it's going to make that like more defined so instead I'm going to bring it just so that it meets that so I'm going to draw it straight down there and I'm going to bring it just under the jawline see you can kind of already see how it's like okay so this is the shape that we're creating we're going to be pushing this area back I just have a hard time getting them completely even though it's like I always bring this one down a little too far all right and then same thing for this side lining it up with this straight down just under just like that pretty simple you know okay using my Sigma f03 brush I'm going to quickly blend out the other things I like to use a padding motion especially if I want to maintain coverage in certain areas sorry if my shirt's making a lot of noise I have videos by the way on the lips and nose so I'll pop those somewhere if you're like confused about this part but this has been the same for a while now for the nose I like to just kind of um buff around Circle kind of maintaining that definition of the tip and then as I blend I'll just kind of like generally blend that up so I'm kind of creating those lines without drawing them initially so that I don't have like too much product but I like to keep it a little bit softer so for this what I want to do is start blending the area that I want to be the least defined so for me it's here I don't want this to be so incredibly dark so I'm going to start by patting this because I don't want it to move around too much if you blend it out too much this whole area can end up looking like really muddy and then you kind of end up undoing all of the work that you know you're trying to achieve like be intentional with your placement I'm just going to blend that down down here okay so softened but see that shape that we've created see how that kind of just like pushes that area in and just makes my face look a lot more structured so I'm going to do the same thing up here again be intentional with your blending so that you're not like blending this all down here there's a reason that you are placing lights and darks in certain areas you know you want to keep them where tare but you don't want them to look streaky see how nice that looks love it but it also Blends it works with my face shape because it's not like this weird thing that we've made up this is what skulls look like you know so this is what it looks like underneath your skin if you've never seen this product before it's the Fenty Matchstick and Amber I can't believe I didn't say that but it's like the one that I always use uh but all the products I use will always be linked down below okay you always have the option to go back in with your sponge or your brush that you applied your foundation with uh to do a little bit of blending if you feel like you need it I feel like I'm pretty well Blended I don't really oh JK now in terms of building it up if you feel like you need more definition I pretty much always love to like go in with a powder to layer which just kind of like helps to set and also intensify uh I think just layers in general just make your makeup look so much more defined without looking heavy
