Make Your Makeup Look Like Skin! *Drugstore Edition*

guys welcome back uh today I'm going to be doing an updated how to make your makeup look like skin routine uh I did one semi- recently but this one is going to be all drugstore products before we get into the tutorial I want to thank sleep and glow for sponsoring this portion of the video uh if you've been watching my channel for a long time then you know I've been using this for I don't even know how long 4 plus years uh the sleep and glow pillow this is the sleep and glow Omnia pillow you may have seen these on um you may have seen like ODS for it it has this like adorable little like I don't know if you can tell very well with the here you go it has this little area right here where you can like it Nestles your face so that when you're sleeping you're not being like smooshed by your pillow cuz let's face it when you wake up in the morning and your face is like all smooshed in your pillow and you end up with a bunch of lines and stuff no matter how well you do your makeup you're probably not going to feel your best I know that that's how I felt before I started sleeping on this um I sleep on every single night I use the Silk pillowcase which is really nice um in fact twere nice enough to send me a second one so my boyfriend sleeps on one too now it makes a huge difference in the way that you wake up in the morning because your face is not all mushed against your pillow you wake up not looking like super puffy or all like creased up you know all smooshed the brand actually conducted a study in Barcelona um tsaid that 82% of cases sleep wrinkles were reduced after 3 months of sleeping on the pillow we're obviously using drugstore up so that you don't have to spend like a ton of money uh but one thing you should be investing in is the way that you're sleeping okay taking care of your skin and what's really nice is in honor of women's day uh they're going to be offering a 15% off coupon so if you use my code Alexandra 15 you'll get 15% off from uh March 1st to March 15th I think I said this before in like an older video but I always want to pack it with me when I go places because it's the worst when you travel and then you just have to end up like sleeping on a normal pillow and your face is all like smoed up it's horrible um so if you guys are interested I will link that down below and don't forget to use the code to get 15% off if you want to or pay full price um okay so let's get into it once you have you know taken care of your skin uh overnight we all have to be conscious of what we're doing overnight skincare is super important for my moisturizer I used um the inky list water cream which is not technically drugstore but it is an affordable moisturizer which is really nice it's actually a pretty good dupe for tatcha dewy skin just saying so my skin is like pretty well hydrated in the areas that I want like a little bit more grip and maybe like a tiny bit more hydration uh I'm going to use the e.l. jelly poop Dew primer which is a very nice like hydrating primer that um it just kind of adds like that extra grip to your skin that really allows your makeup to like hold on to and last throughout the day however if you are like really oily um you should avoid using this in the areas that are like pretty particularly oily so for me my skin is well hydrated I don't really need anything in the center of my face right now so I'm just going to use this on the Outer Perimeter um where I have some areas where I have some breakouts that might just need a little bit extra hydration so the way that you prep your skin is going to be really important you kind of like want I'm going to do two pumps you kind of want to make sure that your skin looks the way that you want it to look with makeup on it if that makes sense so like if your skin is extra dry then you want to make sure that you are like really hydrating it um but you don't want to you want to make sure that you're not overdoing it with the hydration because if you overdo it with the hydration that can also cause like a lot of like um creasing caking or just breakage of your makeup and then I'm actually going to use just a teeny bit of this teeny little bit underneath my eyes where I have extra creasing extra Darkness now this is a a primer that um I would say sets quickly meaning that you don't really need to wait too long for it to like for your skin to absorb it um if you're using a heavier moisturizer then you're going to need to like if you have really oily I'm sorry if you have really dry skin and you're using a heavier moisturizer if you don't allow that moisture to actually like absorb into the skin then it's going to be sitting on top of your skin and it's just going to mix with your whatever you're putting on top of it and cause like breakage caking crepiness creasing all of that kind of stuff this is not drugstore but my lips are really dry so I'm applying oric okay so color correcting is number one you want to make sure that you are focusing first on the area that is your like Focus if you have redness than like a green color corrector if you have like dark spots then it's kind of like the same sort of process as what I'm going to be doing here so I love using the I use this on regular makeup days as well this is the um La girl Pro concealer in light Ivory which I still don't know why it's called light Ivory it is this incredibly it's like a nice light warm Peach uh the reason that I'm using this is to warm up the area around the dark area around my eye because I am going to be placing concealer on top and I want that concealer to not end up looking gray when I am going in with a lighter color on top of this dark tone because it's that's something that like a lot of people have a problem with I am not just using a color corrector right now now to like cancel out any color I'm using this specifically to warm up this area so when I go in with my concealer twork together to create um a warm layer underneath that light color so that I don't end up with a gray tone so that's why I'm using this if if that's always confused you uh so I'm just going to use the tiniest little bit just where I need it so like mostly just in this hollow of my under eye always place the product like where you need the most most of it because you're going to be able to blend it out you know into other areas I'm also going to do my best to use um drugstore brushes so this is um from a Wet n Wild let just stab myself in the eye brush set I'm going to Pat this out and I'm going to focus it just in that Hollow that darkest area uh which extends to like my inner corner right in here by my nose so I'm going to bring it up a little bit and then just lightly blend out so taking whatever is left over to the outer corner of my eye I didn't need to put any product there because again we're going in with um nice light layers and I am because I have a lot of creasing underneath my eyes right here I'm just avoiding this PL this area in um
