Let’s Cover These Up: Best Concealers
so i was literally just doing my makeup to like do another video and then i realized this was a great opportunity to show you how i deal with big painful red breakouts let me zoom you in oops okay so i am for those of you who don't know going on like a little bit of a skincare journey right now so i'm seeing results but i'm also um adjusting if you know what i mean so currently i have some very painful big like deep breakouts like this really red like raised a bit you know so like you can really see them and tthappen to be like right here so i kind of wanted to just share how i cover them so that they're not so obvious because they're like real bad so i like i said i was literally in the middle of doing my makeup and then i thought i should film this so i have the majority of my foundation on i just removed uh the stuff from here the way that i prep my face is literally just like my moisturizer and then sunscreen that's all i use before i do my makeup so the found the moisturizer that i used was the skin fix barrier cream because i need something that is more hydrating right now and hydrating those areas is really going to help especially prep the area for a lot of um coverage which is what you're going to need in those areas and then the sunscreen that i use is my ltmd which is specially formulated to calm and protect acne prone skin so if you happen to deal with like this this might be a good bet for you now uh what i want to do is make sure that these are going to be less visible so something that i like to do is use like a poor product something that's going to be poor filling a little bit something that's going to ever so slightly mattify but not completely modify the area because you don't want to dry it out so that it's like obvious but if it's very very shiny that can also draw a lot of attention to breakouts so something that i used in like the center of my face which is where i typically get a little bit oily is this new thing from nyx which is the pore filler targeted stick this is just nice because it's like easy to use it kind of looks like a lip balm so i'm just gonna pop a little bit over these and then just kind of blend and that is literally just to soften a little bit uh elf has the pore putty primer which is great talso recently came out with the uh acne poor putty primer i don't have it it has salicylic acid in it and it's green so it's going to help like neutralize a little bit of that redness so you might want to check that out uh next what i'm going to do is apply my foundation now i used the rare beauty foundation so since i already have it on the rest of my face i'm just going to put a little bit on my sponge and i'm just going to pat over this you can use a color corrector like you can use a green color corrector uh la girl has some good ones that are like relatively full coverage but not like too thick or anything like that and if you have general redness a really good one is uh where did it go the makeup forever redness corrector this guy it's really good for but it's it's just it's a little bit more thin it's not so full coverage so here i'm just blending into the rest of my foundation which is just kind of like creating cohesive base in this area of my skin with the rest of my skin for concealing this area these areas because i like to keep the rest of my skin looking very natural you can see that like my skin looks nice and flawless with the exception of these things but like the overall finish of my skin looks really nice it doesn't look like i'm wearing a ton of makeup right and that's how i want it to stay so i don't want to build up like a ton of coverage in like a lot of different areas so what i want to do is use a more full coverage concealer now finding a concealer that's going to match your foundation perfectly really tough it's like very difficult so but that's what you need using a light concealer is going to make those areas like stand out even more and if you end up using something that's like too dark same thing it's going to make those areas stand out even more so the concealer that works perfectly for the overall tone of my face is the cosas concealer in oh this is the revealer concealer and this is in a 02 w so that's what i'm going to be using it's also like very nice and hydrating but like pretty full coverage so this is what i'm going to be using and i'm just going to be applying the concealer right in that area just over those breakouts and then a really nice tip is to just let it sit for a minute not too long you don't want it to set for too long but the longer you let it sit the more full coverage it will be in that area because the product starts to kind of like thicken up a little bit as it's exposed to air uh and dry down a little bit of coffee okay now if you feel like when you start to blend out your product over the breakout it just kind of like disappears uh one thing you can do is to use your finger to blend it out sometimes a sponge a sponge is great i love a sponge but sometimes it can end up picking up more product than you want your your finger isn't going to be absorbing the product but it is going to help like pat it into the skin basically you want to use a nice light hand let me zoom you in even more so that's what i'm going to do for this i'm going to use my finger and very lightly pat and you can see i'm not really moving my finger that much just a little bit i'm using my next finger a clean finger do the same thing here not moving it out i'm trying to just cover the area where i see redness okay so i'm basically just kind of like pressing that into the skin now i'm going to wipe my fingers off now obviously that's obvious right like it's very full coverage in that area and it doesn't blend into my skin so the next thing you want to do is grab a little brush you could also use like a tip if you have like a pointed sponge like this you could use a sponge but you're going to have just more precision in general with a brush something like a small blending brush is going to be perfect you want like a little something that's going to be soft enough this might actually be a little bit large uh i can try to like link some brushes down below i know elf has a really good like tiny detailed blender this one's from morphe uh there's one from wayne goss it's obviously expensive but that's the one that i typically use but it's dirty right now so oh actually it's right here so like this size yeah i guess they're pretty much the same you know like a little just a little blender so now what i'm going to do is take this and i'm going to just kind of pat and buff around the edges of that concealer now i'm going to go back in because i have like quite a bit of coverage there i'm going to go back in with my finger pat over that again just kind of slowly blending going back in with my brush not touching the blemish i'm literally just patting around the blemish so that the edges are nice and blended int
