How To Pick Eyebrow Shade & Tone + Instagram Q&a

hi everyone welcome back to the makeup chair for today's Monday makeup lesson I'm talking about how to pick the right shade and tone of your brow products as well as answering your Instagram questions because last week's Monday makeup lesson was my updated brow routine which you can check the link here if you want to have a look at it and since then I've just been getting tons of questions so let's get started there's a basic rule to picking out the right products in that if you have light hair you want to go for a shade darker this is going to complement your hair color and bring out your eyes a little bit more and then if you have dark hair you want to go for a shade lighter or sometimes I like to say to people go for exactly the same shade as your roots your hair at the bottom can be quite a different color to the top of your head and you really want to make sure that this color matches your brows quite nicely I just find it's a really good place to actually look when picking out the right shade however you can subdivide that into categories of picking out the right tone so we know that shade is from light to dark but your tone is from cool to warm to neutral so let's talk about people who have light hair so this is anyone from a light brown all the way up to a platinum blonde or a gray color you guys are divided into two sections any sort of strawberry blondes or readyy tones or orange or yellow tones in your hair you are put into the warm category so you can go for any sort of warm light shades then if you have cool tones so we're talking mousy Browns Ash blondes Platinum blondes with like no tone in and whatsoever or gray colors you guys are in the cool tone you want to make sure you're going for cool Browns cool grays those kind of things to really make sure that you're complimenting your brows and your hair color same goes for people with dark hair you have the warm colors which have kind of red undertones red in certain sunlights that kind of warmth in your hair and then you also have the cool ones these are people who have neutral to no other tone in their hair or whether you have super jet black hair with no undertone whatsoever people in that warm category need to go for warm Browns burnt kind of colors anything that's going to complement their hair will definitely compliment M their eyebrows as well you also want to pay close attention to that shade importantly because you don't want to go too dark with the Brows I found exactly the same shade to half a shade darker is okay but half a shade lighter usually compliments people because you actually find when you put a product on your brow it usually goes a bit darker than you actually think that it's going to look like when it's on the actual pan itself for people in that cool category you guys want to go for Shades with an ashy gray kind of neutral tone in it make sure there's no warmth in there whatsoever you guys really need to pay close attention to that because that is going to make the biggest difference to you for people who have black hair which is the most question I get asked about you guys really want to stay away from black you can mix up a little bit of black with maybe a slight gray color if you don't want to have any warmth in it but just stay away from using black solely by itself you can mix it up with other Shades like a really dark neutral brown with a little bit of black might be totally fine but using black eyes Shadow by itself can actually just be a little bit too harsh there are certain exceptions to those rules which is why I'm going to head over to Instagram and answer your questions on here cuz there some really good ones that I want to answer the first one is by Phoenix monkey blonde eyebrows but everything else looks too orange except for black which is obviously too dark the important thing to note here is that if you have a cool tone anything with any bit of warmth will end up looking orange so you guys want to go for something with an ashy tone you want to go for something with an almost gray tone it's going to look gray when you have a look at it on the actual pan itself when you pop it on the eyebrows it will just fill in your eyebrows quite nicely the next question comes in from gig Katie and she is asking when you go lighter with your hair should you change your brow color this is totally up to yourself personally I think that really dark eyebrows with light hair can look absolutely stunning and really striking and gorgeous as long as you make sure you pay attention to the tone which I talked about make sure if you have that ashy toned on your hair you want to go for ashy toned eyebrows and warmth with warmth if you're going the opposite way if you are going from very fair eyebrows to black hair or you naturally have Fair eyebrows and black hair you really want to make sure that you are tinting them either by getting them done professionally or using at home tinting kits for eyebrows don't use hair dye on your brows it will burn them off the next question comes in from VC Swit 787 I'm so sorry how do you know whether to go warm or cool my eyebrows are very dark darker than my hair but I have a light complexion you got to think of Snow White she's got really jet black hair jet black eyebrows but she's a cool complexion it looks gorgeous so don't take into consideration whether you have a light complexion you actually want to have look at whether you have a cool warm or undertone you want to check out my video on that you can check the link here if you want to have a look at it I have two videos on on how to pick your undertone you want to make sure then you're using the right products but from I'm guessing you probably have um a neutral undertone from your picture that I can see here so you want to go for neutral Browns on your eyebrows this next question comes in from weirdo Filipino people say to fill in your brows two shades lighter if you have dark hair but my natural brow color is the same as my hair if I fill them in lighter it looks so unnatural am I using the wrong shade or do I just keep with the brow shade the same as my hair like I said earlier there are some exceptions to the rules and this is one of the exceptions if you naturally have darker eyebrows than your hair then just go ahead and fill them in with your brows so match your brows to your brows in order to get them just right the next question comes in from K adventuring and she is asking I feel like my eyebrows are strong enough that I don't need to fill them in with makeup but every beauty girl seems to think that you need to fill in your brows to complete a look what are your thoughts as I mentioned in my video last week brows can definitely complement an eye look and if you have polished brows it can definitely bring out your eyes just that little bit more but if you have naturally polished brows you don't need to fill them in but sometimes when Guru say like fill in your eyebrows treally just mea
