hi everyone welcome back to the makeup chair for today's monday makeup lesson i'm going to show you guys how to use a fan brush in a few different ways because so many of you been asking me how to use this unusually shaped brush so let's get started firstly you can use it to apply a setting powder especially if you have drier skin and just want a very thin layer of powder it's going to set the foundation without having a lot of powder on the skin we all know that it's amazing for applying highlighter so i'm going to dip it into a little bit of highlighter brush it on the top of the cheekbones even the edge of the nose you can also do the edge of the brow right at the brow bone and it also works on the top of the lip the chin anywhere where you want a very thin tiny layer of a shimmering kind of highlighter this is the perfect brush for that but not only does it work for highlighting it also works for contouring all you want to do is to brush the tip into your contour match up the line with the top of the ear and the edge of the mouth just like this and swing it back and forth and you'll get a really light contoured effect perfect for daytime you can also use it to contour the edge of the nose and glide any bronzer over the skin as well it gives a really chiseled look to the face without looking too heavy and too harsh because it is so flexible it just balances off the skin you can also use it to apply your blush if you want to apply a very thin layer sweep it backwards across the cheeks or go from the kind of hollow of the cheeks over towards the nose sweeping it across i find for me personally sweeping it across is for my day-to-day look if i sweep it towards the nose i get more of a flushed very natural blush as if the glow is coming from with it if using it to apply makeup doesn't appeal to you you can also use it to apply mud masks and gliding it over the skin you get a really thin layer it's a fantastic use of this brush if you're not going to use it to apply your makeup and that is how to use a fan brush make sure to come along to the irish beauty show on next sunday and monday i'm going to be there all day at the blank canvas stand i'm gonna show you guys how to pick out a few brushes for you personally and also do a few demos on the day so i will see you guys in my next video and i'll also see you guys next week bye guys
