Vaseline Lash Primer? I’m Confused | Beauty Product Review
okay I don't trust this at all not even a little bit I don't trust it I think it's I think it's bull I don't trust it if you haven't seen it's been all over the place this Tick Tock hack I don't know if it's originated on Tick Tock I feel like all the stupid hacks originate on Tech talk now this hack where you put Vaseline on your lashes before mascara bro I got notes I got notes I've been taking notes I got notes when I first saw this I was like this is a marketing Ploy by Vaseline to be like no one is buying us because Aquaphor and so we have to come up with something I don't know okay so uh I tried to find a video I don't know who originated it I have absolutely no idea I found a good video of the application though um hold on one second oh my God pause okay so this girl Serena La K kiss could be l-a-k kiss not entirely sure um on Tick Tock this one was just like a good like little demo so she applies the Vaseline to her eyelash curler curls her lashes and then applies to her lashes and then everyone is and then she applies the mascara and everyone is like oh my God this pissed me off uh because Vaseline is emollient it's wet what this makes zero sense to me it's not like a primer it doesn't set it just stays wet I don't understand this it's either going to like make your mascara slide off or get on like other but like if people have problem with transfer this is only going to exacerbate I also don't know like what they're trying to accomplish like is this supposed to make your lashes look like thicker is it supposed to be more um voluminous is it supposed to hold the curl a bunch of people started asking me to try this when I uploaded that little video about my mascara hack where I tried my eyeshadow primer on my lashes and then went in with mascara like a regular mascara or rather than waterproof like straight in with the uh applicator then I'm going to use a clean spoolie and I'm going to just kind of like brush it through so it's not thick which makes sense a primer sets like the primer is meant to make things last it adds a little bit of volume to the lashes obviously it's an under eye or it's a eyeshadow primer so it's not necessarily meant for that exactly which is why I thought it was a bit of a hack fast only makes no sense it makes no sense so I picked up the Blue Seal I got this guy I got this because I didn't want I like I wasn't going to use Aquaphor I was gonna use something else because like I didn't want people to be like no it has to be you have to tap the blue there's a new blue cap and it has to be yellow like I didn't want that okay so I got it I got it I bought this for this now if this is just meant to be like something that you apply to your Lashes in the evening for moisture like castor oil that I could get like I could get behind I get that I remember I used to try castor oil on my lashes and my eyebrows because people were like it'll make it grow and it that [ __ ] just gets in your eyes it's awful and then like if you're sleeping you're moving around it's getting all over your pillow it's a mess so we're gonna do a little demo we're gonna do a wear test because I don't [ __ ] trust it I didn't set my face because I know this is going to be a mess so I'm just anticipating so I'm gonna do what she did do I have like a Q-tip or something I guess I'll just use a little brush pick up some Vaseline I'm gonna put it I don't know what they're doing outside it's so annoying I'm gonna put it on my uh lash curler I'm really not happy about this I gotta say curl I'm gonna take my this is difficult I'm gonna take my spoolie I have a spoolie I'm gonna pick up some Vaseline with my spoolie oh and then while it's curled I'm going to paint this [ __ ] on my lashes and then I'm gonna do what I always do and just kind of curl up the Lash okay I mean tlook like shiny my um my eyelid is all shiny I'm gonna use the kill lash super uh uh super proof mascara extreme volume this is their like tubing mascara okay at all okay first impression it actually looks legit it actually looks legit I was so ready to hate this should we do the other one I did get it all over my lid though am I starting to fall I feel like they're starting to fall they're starting to fall do one more coat because like isn't the Vaseline just like mixing this is the thing is that all the tick tocks I could find none of them showed it like significantly after here's what I'm gonna do on this eye I'm gonna do my trick now I gotta remove all this Vaseline from my freaking lash curler see it's already starting to fall and my eyelid's all shiny all right so for my trick I curled my lashes first I applied the Urban Decay um primer potion I can't remember if I just like went in like this or what I'm just gonna use another spoolie kind of brush it out yeah I mean see they're falling like what did we expect you know now I'm going to go in with that same mascara do a second coat now we have nothing to go by because we need to compare the sides right so this is obviously Fallen a lot and I just applied this so I want to give it some time here's what I'm going to do I'm going to take a break I'm gonna go eat some soup and then I'll be back okay I'm back um that's a minestrone soup it's really good uh so how long has it been just about 45 minutes um so if we compare the sides uh so the Vaseline side this is the Vaseline side uh has definitely Fallen quite a bit um the uh whatever what was this the Urban Decay the eye primer side it's Fallen a little bit it's not like quite as curly as uh like Curly and up as when I use waterproof mascara but it has like maintained a bit of a lift my assumption would be because the eye primer is just not as heavy as the Vaseline my lashes feel like pretty lightweight no no residue or anything when I touch them um this is what I'm worried about with this huh so I was actually expecting it to feel more wet just kind of interesting I have like a little bit of flaking a little bit you see that like tiny little flakes that came off but it's actually like relatively dry to the touch which is kind of surprising because that was my main worry it was like oh I mean you know I mean the more I touch it like some stuff is coming off um but my main worry was that like the Vaseline was just going to be so wet that like the mascara was just gonna get everywhere I just don't know what the point is supposed to be what Point's supposed to be all right here's my conclusion if you're someone who has super dry hair nails skin and you want to keep your lashes well hydrated throughout the day because mascara dries them out or something I think this could actually work for you if you're someone like me who has very straight very limp lashes this stuff is just going to weigh your lashes down which is pretty apparent you know uh it doesn't seem to really like make a big difference as far as transfer I was much more concerned about like is this going to be you know is this going to keep them lift
