I Followed Hung Vanngo’s Tutorial On Michelle Phan But Made It Drugstore Yayyyyyy
uh this is a different situation um today i'm gonna be following a hung van gogh tutorial i don't know if you guys saw his recent video if you don't know who hung van gogh is he's an amazing makeup artist um i think i've been following him on instagram for like the longest time ziva can you please keep it down so i don't know if you guys saw this video where he did michelle phan's makeup yay and then my mic died classic classic alex uh what you really need to know is that i wanted to recreate it because i absolutely loved it as soon as i saw it and i wanted to make a drugstore so that's what we're doing today um yeah i skipped his uh like skincare because i basically just like prepped my skin with my event uh sunscreen uh the only difference is i used my l2md on my lids so that twouldn't be like super oily um yeah and you guys already know my aquaphor so for my foundation i'm using revlon colorstay in the shade buff classic he used brushes because i guess that's what i mean obviously that's what he prefers and also as a makeup artist it's a lot easier to keep it sanitary from use on multiple people uh but you know me i love a sponge i love a damp sponge so i decided to do exactly like oh ziva attacked me yeah it was a it's a long story we got into a fight and i lost um i decided to do exactly like he did so i'm starting off in the center of the face which is like typically where people have the most redness including myself i don't have a ton of redness in my skin but when i do have discoloration that's where it kind of shows up i thought it was really interesting he took the foundation underneath the eyes so typically i wouldn't do that because i just go in with concealer but i decided to do that this time obviously because i'm following his tutorial i don't know how i got lipstick on that it literally happened within like two seconds um so underneath my eyes i'm using the by drew color corrector he just ended up using like what he referred to as kind of like a more peachy concealer under her eyes um but i just didn't think that that would work for me and i also don't really have any like concealers that are super peachy so i decided to use a color corrector and then go in with the elf hydrating camo concealers i had two colors all of the products will be linked down below obviously um what i loved about like his technique is that he was he was incredibly precise also i'm using a revlon brush i loved this brush i used it so much throughout this tutorial um but he didn't do like a ton of concealing or even highlighting really it was more my like laptop is starting to get really loud again i have to like slink away um it was just like it was it was mostly about um kind of creating like a very flawless finish and not doing like a ton of manipulation with highlighting um anyway so i used the lightest color underneath my eyes and then i used the slightly darker concealer so loud laptop to try and conceal that little scratch from ziva which did not go well and then to contour i used the nyx wonder stick this one is for fair skin i love her face here she's like oh you're really going in so he like drew the contour right on the jawline which you guys know i never do i usually take it underneath um so that was interesting i obviously like i tried to follow his leg placement exactly and i have to say i really fell in love with the way that he did the cheeks like he puts it a little bit obviously you can see it doesn't go all the way back to my ear which i typically do and it just created so much more i guess i didn't realize i was kind of minimizing that area of my face um it creates so much more depth to the cheekbones so i fell in love with that technique obviously i haven't blended it yet but the jawline i'm still a little like i liked it a lot his reasoning was it kind of like minimizes the actual jawline makes it look a little bit more just refined um i i like it but i think i'm still i don't know i kind of have to get used to it you know but yeah those cheekbones bro i really loved that it just kind of like yeah it just worked and then i also appreciated like uh i mean i have a huge forehead so i appreciate it i appreciated all the uh all the product on my forehead um yeah i think i was just reacting to like when she was like oh you're going in which like yeah anyway whatever it's early in the morning okay give me a break you guys know this is what happens with the voice over i just felt like i needed to like refine that area of my jaw so i'm going in a little bit more um than he did for her so and then he you know went in a teeny look at my temple bro i literally did not blend that until later i was like oh [ __ ] that's like oh it's so hard to like follow a tutorial and be doing it at the exact same time and talking through it i just have to say um i think we nailed it though so this is another little revlon brush i don't know what it is but it's like it's like a tiny little like dense fan almost and it was so good for contouring my nose uh you know that this has been a struggle for me for like ever so yeah i don't know dude hung help me help me i don't know how to contour this nose i think it went pretty well um he like drew the lines and then basically went in with uh like i think is the foundation brush to just like blend so i just kind of like did a little bit of blending with the actual contour brush and then i ended up going back in with that little concealer brush and kind of blending around those edges i was trying to obviously like follow his technique the center is very difficult for me like i feel like i always end up losing the line and then it just makes my nose look more um okay laptop we get it you're hot jesus uh it makes the line or my nose look like even bumpier but i don't know i feel like it it was fine it was fine i just i need guidance i need any guidance this i was so excited for because you know that i love contouring my lips so when he started doing it i was like oh [ __ ] yeah and michelle was like so surprised she was like oh you're going down there but it's such a good trick and i love it so much and i i feel like i do it even on like very natural makeup days so i felt validated i felt validated when i watched him doing this i need a sip of coffee i'm sorry i'm gonna set my face with my fit me powder he used the same powder underneath the eyes for like the whole face sorry i really needed coffee this is like a 20 minute video um so i'm using an elf brush to set i went all over the face and then ended up picking up a slightly smaller elf brush i'll once again i'll link everything and just like patted that same powder underneath my eyes which felt very strange because michelle doesn't have dark circles like me so yeah i just feel like i need that brightness for my concealer i mean sorry highlighter um i'm wait what the [ __ ] just happened oh wait oh that was bronzer oh my god it looked like highlighter wait am i messed up did i mess
