Before You Buy an LED Light Mask… | Skincare Device Considerations

this is so tmi i need to like say that at the beginning put this at the beginning tmi just saying guys is a little bit random there's a lot of these like devices out there beauty devices uh like new face which is another thing that i'm gonna be talking about at some point today i'm gonna be talking about the led masks tare i'm sure you've seen them around there's a bunch of them like brands have them all over the place um i guess like led light blue red and then there's like i think there's another color but i yellow i can't remember and to be complete i think red is for like collagen production blue is for like uh acne i think it kills the bacteria that causes acne i believe anyway i'm sure you've seen these all over the place the first time that i heard about it was when i went to go get a facial at the joanna vargas salon in west hollywood and thave like a led light bed that you like full body type thing it looks like a tanning bed do not recommend if you're claustrophobic anyway so company reached out to me i can't remember who it was if i can i'll like link what it was the mask was actually like very cool looking it was like super lightweight and nice uh and i was super excited about it i was like all about just taking care of my collagen i guess like uh you know maintaining the clear skin that i have achieved and also just yeah i don't know anti-aging stuff you know new devices it seems exciting i wanted to share with you my negative experience because it's something that's just very random and there's all these like tiny little side effects uh that aren't like life-threatening or anything but uh tcan be really annoying that you don't necessarily hear about i haven't really heard anyone talk about this so my experience uh i received a an led led light mask red and blue light i believe i don't think there was another one which you were supposed to use for a minimum of 15 minutes so i like jumped in full force it said essentially like use it for at least 15 minutes a day so that's what i did i would wake up in the mornings and mostly like most days i would say i would do like 15 minutes of red light and then 15 minutes of blue light or if i didn't have enough time i would do like 15 minutes of you know one or the other so i never exceeded 30 minutes i'd say like on average i probably did like 15 minutes a day you know and i'll be honest i thought that i was seeing some results uh it's kind of hard to tell i was using it for about a month or so and i had also started tretinoin or i had been on tretinoin for a bit so i had definitely seen results with that as far as like skin firmness and you know clear skin and all that what i did start to notice eventually after about maybe a month a month and a half were these little bumps that were forming two of them i'm going to zoom you in and show you what's left over so i have this thing underneath my eye here that i've had as long as i can remember uh probably goes back to when i was like a teenager or whatever i don't i can't remember what the name for it is i went to a dermatologist and uh she called it a growth i was like can we use a different word that is so gross i called the colorless mole and that's what i'm gonna stick with so this little guy i've had like for as long as i can remember this one over here is new uh so i started to develop this bump over here when i started using the blue light or the the red and blue light the led light mask it started to get close to this size and i was like where are you coming from the [ __ ] are you right now so in addition to this one i also had one i don't know if you can see it actually it pretty much went away that was down um on my jawline or underneath my underneath my jawline on my neck i think it's right if i feel around i can feel it i'm pretty sure it's like in this general vicinity maybe like right there if you can see i don't know i started to form these bumps on under my neck and here and i thought is it milia and i was like is it like at first i was like is it is it especially this one it was like what is happening down here you know this one and then i just assumed this one was milia and it just kept getting like bigger and bigger and bigger to the point where it was probably like half this size maybe like two-thirds this size uh and this one maybe like half this size i can't remember half the size sorry i can't remember um but it was noticeable and i tried to pop it because i thought it was is it so i ended up making a dermatologist appointment because i was like this must be milia and i know i know that you know because twouldn't go away um when i tried to pop them i didn't try to pop this one this one i don't think because i don't think i did no because it was pretty i assumed it was amelia and i knew that only dermatologists can remove them so i went in and ttold me i actually do have a little bit of milia which is over here that i really need to get rid of because it's super annoying but ttold me that these were just like growths once again and i was like that's disgusting anyway um tsaid that some people are just more prone to them and at the time of my appointment i hadn't made the connection between the mask which was the only new thing that i had uh introduced within the last like probably two to three months i had been on tretinoin for at least four or five months at that point it was the only new thing that i was using and i had gone in full force so i started googling around and i saw that these things were connected to um by or kind of spurred on i guess by uh light exposure so i had a really hard time finding anything that like connected led light masks or laser or whatever to these growths [ __ ] they're so such a gross term i hate it i wish i could knew the like exact term for it but i i made sort of the connection in my head and i was like i started using this like light mask um maybe i should just stop so i stopped at cold turkey and then tstarted to diminish in size like immediately this one went away essentially within a week uh like i said like if i really press i can kind of feel like a little bit of a bump that feels like maybe a scar or something like a low scar but i can't really see anything and then this one i mean it shrunk like significantly in size it's obviously still there and i want to get it removed which is super annoying so something to kind of like corroborate this because like i said i had sort of a hard time finding any like solid evidence that these two things are uh that tcorrelate i get laser hair removal on my armpits and i have for like a long time so that's once again you're exposing your skin to sun to light light beams laser light whatever um i started to develop some of these little things like super super tiny like around this area like on the perimeter basically like not right in the center but like on the perimeter and they're super tiny and like don't really
