Alright Rare Beauty..we’ve Got A Lot To Cover…
all right that spotlight behind me first of all how exciting is that i got a spotlight uh it's loud so i'm really hoping that you can't hear it because there's a fan in it it gets real hot anyway um we're doing rare beauty today thank you for your patience i appreciate it okay so i um got like a little fuzzy thing for my mic to try and prevent some of those like it's a very sensitive mic apparently uh which is a little bit irritating so i understand i realize it's frustrating to hear all of the like sounds i get it uh anyway quick before we jump right into it i kissed my cat and i have a hive on my lip hopefully that will go away soon this is a result of my ongoing under eye filler dissolving journey i don't want to say journey it's a journey i guess uh it has been it's been a hell of a process anyway um that's all that is i got poked with some more white a's or whatever tcall it okay so rare beauty um so i purchased this stuff myself i went on and i made a little for a purchase when i was traveling because i know you guys wanted to see a review on this so i'm excited about this i already have some feelings uh about certain things just from swatching and looking taking a look but i have not used anything yet so let's go through this together first up i want to start off with the packaging just because it feels a little dated to me it's got that like um i don't know like if you're gonna be able to see the texture here but uh it's it looks kind of like paper a little bit like um or yeah like old school paper like papyrus or something like that it's got that kind of like um i don't know what you call that uh layer layering stitching whatever you want to call it and then i don't know if like burgundy is just like her favorite color but the text is burgundy the inside is burgundy and to me it just makes it look very old like burgundy and also the font i don't know that's just me that's just me as someone who worked as a graphic designer who has a background in art who actually like created packaging for some makeup products the red beauty font is actually quite nice though but this stuff not a fan anyway um so that what is that for the mist and then these are the uh liquid lips no they're not liquid lipsticks lip souffle creams so they're i think they're matte i can't remember now um but the packaging of these is supposed to uh coordinate with the actual color of the lip product again i'm just like not well i'm not wild about the uh papery i don't know i just don't like that so packaging wise not a huge fan let's just jump right into it so i have i bought full face stuff so we're gonna be doing absolutely everything today and i did get the two brushes so this is the foundation well i believe tdon't have names on no tonly have the name of the company on them um but this is the i believe foundation brush or just like face brush and then this is the concealer brush just because um i don't know i'm a sucker for brushes so my first impression of the uh like actual product packaging is that some of it feels a little bit cheap um this is the primer which is what we're gonna start off with today it's like a little bit matte matte plastic and i don't know it doesn't have like much weight to it you know so it feels can you hear that it just feels kind of cheap the first product that i noticed that on was i believe the highlighter i don't know it just uh it feels a little bit cheap they're not like super weighted this actually does look like kind of nice but honestly i'm not wild about this like matte plasticky like kim k was the first one who did it and i was like bro well i don't know if she was the first one but who made it like popular it's just like you know i love these products so this is obviously like delving really deep but same deal dude just like cheap feeling packaging like why is it this cheap crappy plastic i don't like it it doesn't look nice it looks like a big crayon you know um again the products might be amazing but i'm not like so wild about the plasticky packaging i'm just not anyway so we're gonna start off with the primer um which is the alum it's an illuminating primer i thought this was kind of small it's 0.5 ounces um so it's half of oh it's all made in italy i think okay that seems fancy so that seemed i don't know just kind of small for a primer i feel like primers are typically the same size as foundations how big are these foundations yeah they're one fluid ounce so like typically you know i don't know for a face primer because you're basically using the same amount anyway let's start off with that oh so i'm just use one pump which might be too much and i am not an illuminating primer kind of person but i did swatch this and it did look very pretty it does have like a pearl in it obviously which is like what helps make it illuminating but it's super duper fine so that's kind of nice that's just like one pump that definitely didn't make me look as oily as i thought it was going to i thought it was going to be uh very oily now i do tend especially when it's hot and it's been pretty hot in la recently i do tend to get more oily throughout the day especially in my t-zone so this is the kind of thing that like maybe i would probably want to keep to the outer perimeter of my face if you are more oily you might want to i don't know either skip this one or do that you know or maybe just use it on like the high points of your face but i'll see kind of how it wears i'm just popping down some um color corrector one thing i will quickly just say is i know i'm always like referencing outside sounds and you guys are like we don't hear it some people do some people don't uh if like that motorcycle for instance if you do hear my boyfriend talking in the background i've told him a million times please go in the other room but uh i just don't have the energy to reign him in today so uh just ignore that as well always use a color corrector for the darkness so i'm gonna start off with my foundation i got two shades uh the problem so the two shades that i got i got 170w which i think is a little bit dark for me um and then i got 110 n there is a really big shade range i can't remember how many it is is it 50 or something 50 colors um oh this one's made in canada so the foundation's made in canada just saying uh interesting so anyway there is a really big shade range but it was so hard to like look at the swatches and figure out like what my shade would be 170n looked like it would be like pretty olive but there was nothing lighter than that that seemed like it would be as olive the closest like undertone that seemed to fit was like so light so and i'm really glad that i didn't get that one oh wait did i is this the one that i was looking at now i can't even remember but i figured i could mix them if i if i absolutely needed to i got a little bit of sun over the weekend so i think i'm just going to use 170 w the other problem somehow i only ordered one concealer
