the megala where to even start in today's video i'm gonna be telling you everything from step one all the way to the red carpet and after the cream carpet if you will this year i attended the megala and after seeing so many people talking about how influencers shouldn't be there i was there whoops and there is so much to tell there is so much to say i have experienced a lot during the met gala and i've been told that what happens at the met stays at the met but today i'm gonna be sharing some tea without anna winter coming for me and also in today's video i am teaming up with maybelline the first product i'm gonna go in with is my own brand this is the nimya cooling eye stick now this stick right here is de-puffing highly moisturizing and just a cool breeze for the eye area and i tend to get super puffy around my eyes so i like to put this here because it's extra cooling it feels like you're going to an eye spa and it works amazing as a primer for the under eyes so i like doing this as like a first step to get everything sorted before we go in with all that paint and especially during the met this just like this was a moment to calm down and get ready for all the glam after using the cooling eye stick it is now time for the nimya where it all starts cream this is a moisturizer and primer hybrid it is highly moisturizing and it leaves a sticky finish to act as a makeup magnet anything you put over top will really stick onto it and stay there all day now a lot of people were talking about this texture people call the cottage cheese works for me this is actually a marshmallow texture so it's very light and airy but sticky and that's what i love about it the most you only need a tiny little bit leaves a stunning glow and i just pop this on as my together with anna wintour determines who is allowed to sort of join the met for youtube that year so when we got the email from derek inviting us to the met i was like they're pranking us not a chance that twould ever ask me so we got the email and i started freaking out because we got the email very late and we were like well we've never done anything like this what are we supposed to do so derek really guided us through every step of the way so of course i said yes i mean it is frightening but i just had to say yes this has been a dream of mine to be able to be at such a huge platform for the world and show a message so derek told us that we should come up with a list of designers we wanted to work with this girl over here is plus size and i was like not a chance in hell that any designer wants to like put clothes on me because one i don't fit any of the clothes and two i live in the netherlands like how are we gonna do that how are we gonna do fittings how are we gonna do all of that so we sent in a list of designers that i liked along with them was a dutch designer who also created my eurovision grand final dress the pink one edwin outhorn created that dress i really loved working with him and his partner twere so easy to work with during eurovision and tjust made me feel so gorgeous in that dress that i was like well if we can kind of channel that same feeling i had when i wore that dress let's ask them to do it for the met as well we sent it to vogue and vogue approved edwin so that's when we knew that we could start working on sketches working out ideas and do all of that really quickly going in with the maybelline instant age rewind concealer and i am in the color 120 light just a heads up i'll be buffing this in using my sponge and then after immediately right after setting it with my fit me loose powder in o5 so we contacted edmond and we told him like how would you feel if we were able to bring you to the met and twere so excited and with the theme being american independence we were up for a challenge because i'm not from america quickly thinking with the team wes and the guys from edwin we stumbled upon because the met is in new york city and someone who lived in new york city and was so so vital for the trans community was marsha p johnson and the stonewall writes stonewall being in new york city it just all clicked for us you know marsha p johnson a trans activist who so heroically fought for my community i knew that if i was gonna stand there i wanted to tell a message i wanted to portray a story of our history so it all just clicked and marcia was known for the flowers the flower crown the flower dresses marsha was obsessed with flowers and we quickly knew that we wanted to do something with flowers by the way
